Whether you have an hour, a day, a month, or a year, we’re grateful for what you can give. Here are some ways you can donate time to help CC4C.
Foster
Throughout the year, we come across abandoned cats and kittens that need a safe place foster home. Kittens need a safe place to grow up, or a mama kitty and her litter need a warm place out of the elements and threats outside. Can you provide a warm, safe shelter and lots of love as they await their forever homes? Or socialize semi-feral cats and kittens until they are adoptable?
All medical is provided by CC4C. You provide food and litter and love. Each foster is supported by a CC4C Member who will support until your kitties are adopted. Typical fostering commitments last 1 to 4 months, depending on the age and socialization when you get the kitty.
See our Fostering page for more information.
Trap-Neuter-Return of Feral Cats
We always need more trapping support to help spay/ neuter the ever-growing population of feral cats in our county. A CC4C member can teach you the basics of trapping and recovering feral cats. Once the cat is captured, they will need to be transported to their spay/neuter surgery, which will be coordinated through CC4C, and picked up following the surgery and brought home to recover.
See our Trap-Neuter-Return page for more information.
Recovery of Ferals after Spay/Neuter
Many of the community calls we answer need assistance– including recovery of ferals. Feral cats are recovered in cages, with food, water and litter box, for several days of healing, then returned to their outdoor home. This is a great way to help feral cats by allowing them time to heal before going back out into the elements where they have to fend for themselves. Many of our community callers are not experienced in recovering ferals– can you help us to help them?
Commitment duration:
- 2-3 weeks for Feral Mamas since they need to be separated from their weaned kittens for about 1-2 weeks to “dry out” before their spay appointment, then recovered for 5-7 nights after spay
- 3-5 nights for Feral Females (non-nursing)
- Varies for medical rehabilitation of ferals
